An old word for yellowish
Xanthic is an English adjective that means yellowish. It is built from the Greek xanthos, which means yellow. The word shows up mostly in chemistry, as in xanthic acid, rather than in paint or fashion. As a color name it is rare.
The shades of yellow article lists Xanthic as #EEED09, citing The Official Register of Color Names. The site's #F4E216 comes from an open name list instead, so the codes do not match. Ours is a bit warmer and has less green in it. It sits near lemon and canary yellow. Black text on it is very easy to read, at 15.74 to 1.
