A crayon since 1903
Copper is one of Crayola's oldest crayon colors. It was made from 1903 to 1915 and then dropped. It came back in 1958 and is still sold today in the 96 and 120 crayon boxes. The crayon is metallic, so #DA8A67 only shows its basic hue, as the list of Crayola crayon colors points out. The ISCC-NBS system calls the code a moderate orange.
Same code, other names
This site also lists #DA8A67 as pale copper. The copper from Maerz and Paul's color dictionary, copper at #B87333, is darker and browner. Crayola's later metallic crayon copper penny is a dusty rose brown.
