Named through a contest

Gold Fusion is one of the 16 Metallic FX crayons that Crayola released in 2001. People in the United States and Canada picked the names in a contest. The code #85754E is only a stand in for a shiny crayon. It was taken from Crayola's online store, as noted in the list of Crayola crayon colors.

Gold without the shine

A flat screen loses the metal effect, so Gold Fusion looks like a grayish olive brown. In 2019 Crayola brought the set back as Metallic Crayons and grew it to 24 colors.
