A gilding term first
Before it was a color name, liquid gold was a real material. Dictionary.com defines it as finely divided gold held in a vegetable oil, used mostly to gild china. It dates the term to about 1835 to 1845.
A pearly crayon with another code
Crayola sold a Liquid Gold crayon in its box of Pearl Crayons from 2019. The list of Crayola crayon colors gives that crayon as #FFD966. Our #FDC675 is a little more orange, so the two codes do not match. We found no source for #FDC675 itself. For metal tones, see gold or old gold.
