About the color Traffic Green

A name from the RAL chart

Traffic green is RAL 6024, a paint color in the German RAL Classic chart. RAL began in 1927 with a set of 40 colors. The chart now has about 210, and many of them are used on warning and traffic signs. That is where the traffic colors get their names.

The Wikipedia list of RAL colours shows RAL 6024 as #008754, a deep blue green. Our RAL chart uses the same code.

This code is much brighter

The traffic green on this page, #55FF22, is a different color. It is a glowing neon green that only a screen can show, more like a traffic light than a painted sign. It comes from an open online name list, not from RAL. Close matches are harlequin and neon green.
